John Carrelli began his career in printing more than 19 years ago in the finishing department at Braceland Brothers, where he received several awards for productivity. John was soon promoted to bindery supervisor and chosen leader of the Process Improvement Team.
John joined Alcom in 2001. One weekend one of the machines broke down and parts could not be ordered. John found a junk block of plastic near his home and came into the plant and fabricated a gear to get the machine running. The job was delivered on time to the client.
John is Finishing Department Manager at Alcom and also heads up their Green Committee. He was instrumental in helping Alcom earn the Sustainable Green Printer certification.
Call for Nominations: Craftsman of the Year 2010
The Neographics Committee is now accepting nominations for the 2010 Craftsperson of the Year. If
someone from your company or someone you know has made significant contributions to the Graphic Arts industry in this
region and you think that person should be recognized, we encourage you to submit a nomination. Below is the criteria
the Neographics committee follows in choosing the “Craftsperson of the Year”
Craftsman of the Year Criteria
Candidates must have worked in the industry for at least 10 years. They must also have a record of accomplishments that
demonstrate their contribution toward the company they work for, as well as the respect from their peers, suppliers
and clients. Such contributions could be in the form of leadership, dedication, loyalty and skilled craftsmanship,
and in many cases, helped a company improve its bottom line. The nominee must currently be working for a member
company of GAA.
Please write (approximately 100 words) why you feel this person is qualified. All entries will be
reviewed by the committee. Presentation will be made on Thursday May 6, 2010 at the Neographics® dinner. All entries
must be on company letterhead and signed by an official of the company.
